-Support other Programs: supporting other programs will make them in turn support you and build that fan base that is impossible to play against
-Community Engagmenet: increase that fan base further by involving the community in what you are doing and making them feel valuable and loved
-Share your program: allow donors and fans to interact and form relationships with athletes
-Build trust across job funcitons: understand there are reasons behind decisions administration makes and accept/respect it
-Know your level: know what you can ask for and what is realistic, be creative.
Building Trust in Your Program
Trust: very important and must be throughout your program. players trust coaches, coaches trust players.
-Earning your player's trust: players must know how much you care
-Developing trust between players: develop a team first mentality with a tremendous amount of leadership and sacrifice from everyone
-Player leadership roles: leaders must help coaching staff manage all of the personalities and egos in the program
Characterisitcs of a Loyal Assistant
-Coaching role: must understand that it is the head coach's programand they are there to help the head coach, must support the head coach inall decisions and help them fulfill thier vision
-Team Culture: make the teams policies and values a part of who you are and lead by example
-Anticipate Needs: do not wait to be asked to do something, this will build more faith and trust for you allowing you to have more responsibility down the road
-Constructive Input: do not be a yes man, express your opinions and ideas, make a point, support your point, and argue your point. Remember, at the end it is the head coach's decision
