A Career In Coaching
Broken down into 5 sections:
1) Networking
- Most important aspect is to build RELATIONSHIPS
- In recruiting, with other coaches, with important business people, etc.
- It's not about who you know, it's about who knows you.
- No one wants to hire someone who is unsure of themselves
- You must be prepared when your number is called
- Must be able to project your confidence
- You must add VALUE
- You must bring something to the table that another coach is looking for
- BE THE BEST AT WHAT YOU DO
- "There is ALWAYS something to do in the office"
- Coaching isn't meant for those who aren't grinders.
- Be the first to arrive and the last to leave.
- There are enough people in this world trying to be something they are not, don't become another one.

Coaching Basketball
1) Team Culture
- One of the hardest things to do as a coach
- Needs to be constant regardless of wins or losses
- Find an offensive and defensive system that works for the players you have on your team
- Relationships with your players makes all the difference
- There are only so many practice hours in a week, but you must devote some time each practice to player development
- It doesn't matter how great your offensive set is if your team can't make the shot at the end of the play
